About the Role The Head of Legal is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s legal and regulatory requirements. The position is hybrid, 3 days a week in Stuart’s Paris office, reporting to the VP of Finance based in Paris. Responsibilities Legal Oversight & Compliance – Provide expert legal advice on employment, commercial, litigation, corporate and regulatory matters across the organization; ensure compliance with national and international laws, including employment laws, data privacy regulations and corporate governance; develop and maintain internal legal policies; monitor legal and regulatory changes, advising leadership on necessary adjustments. Risk Management & Dispute Resolution – Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them; oversee any legal disputes, investigations and litigation, working closely with external legal counsel in each jurisdiction; support internal teams in resolving employment law issues, compliance concerns and corporate governance matters. Corporate Governance & Ethics – Advise on governance matters, ensuring the company adheres to legal and ethical standards; support board and executive leadership with legal insights related to corporate decisions and policies; conduct internal legal audits and implement best practices to strengthen regulatory compliance. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with HR, Finance and Operations to align legal strategies with business needs; communicate legal policies and updates effectively to senior management and employees; act as a liaison with external legal counsel, government agencies and industry bodies; manage the relationship with the external DPO. Contract Management & Negotiation Oversight – Draft, review and negotiate French contracts, including employment agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements and service‑level agreements; oversee English contracts; ensure all contracts protect the company’s interests and comply with relevant legal requirements; collaborate with internal teams to assess the legal implications of business agreements. Legal Team Management – Manage the legal team, consisting of one Legal Counsel based in Poland responsible for all English contracts, CLM tool, Polish legal matters, insurance and marketing. Qualifications 7+ years of qualified in‑house legal experience. Proven ability to manage and advise on legal risks in a dynamic, international environment. Expertise in employment law, litigation, commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and data protection. Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally and provide strategic legal advice to business leaders with the support of external counsel. Fluency in both French and English. Registered and qualified as a legal professional. Additional Information Location: Paris, France – hybrid model (3 days in office). Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.
