In this position, you’ll work closely with external vendors on new UT development, evaluating the performance to ensure that the implementation is compliant with the System/UT requirements. The candidate also work closely with the internal software team architecting the embedded software for the User Terminal as well as overlooking the hardware development of the User Terminal.For future UT roadmap, the candidate as part of the UT Engineering team will work closely with the E2E System Engineering in shaping the next generation of the UT. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.Who You Are:An enthusiastic software and hardware engineer with good understanding and experience in system engineering, user terminal architecture and embedded software know-how to work on our future UTs. The candidate is familiar with the industry best-practice software development methodologies and design as well as hardware integration.What You’ll Do:The candidate will be part of the Eutelsat User Terminal (UT) team within the Eutelsat End-to-End (E2E) Engineering group.Provide Technical Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to the internal teams to define and shape the hardware design/architecture and functional specification of our new UTProvide SWaP and sizing trade-offs/analysis as part of the UT hardware down-selection processWorking closely with the vendors down-selecting hardware and support the integration firmware/software of the chosen hardware platformSupport new UT development programs and guide/advice the UT vendors with the best engineering practice in terms of UT design and implementationWhere applicable, support the team in the next generation UT architectural design, new ICD and requirement definitionsWhat You’ll Need:Good understanding of the end-to-end wireless communication systems, especially satellite communicationsGood understanding of User Terminal architecture design & developmentDeep understanding/working experience in: Antenna & RF subsystem, Modem Chipset and ElectronicsGood experience in hardware design, integration and manufacturing trade/offExperience in liaising with supply chain and 3rd party vendors for the implementation of the User Terminal designsUnderstanding of 3GPP, 5G, NTN architectures and definitionsDesirable but not mandatory areas of expertise: Beamforming network (analog, digital, hybrid), or Satcom Air Interface & Waveforms and PCB designScripting and data analysis capability requiredPassionate about complex problem solving with a proven track record of such accomplishments (the last for the senior role)Firmly grounded in electronic measurement and instrumentation techniques, including RF measurementElectrical/Electronic educational training and background strongly preferredWhere You’ll Work: Issy-les-Moulineaux, France or London, UKThe Eutelsat Group treats the protection of personal data submitted to it seriously.
