Open up opportunities with HPE.Job DescriptionJob Family Definition: Sales Specialists are product, services, software or solution specialists responsible for leading pursuit in their assigned focus areas. Collaborates with Account Managers and provides specialist expertise within the sales team. Drives campaigns to build the pipeline and uses specialized knowledge to prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities. May have named accounts, cover a designated geography, or be allocated to a high-potential account.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for sales of storage products and solutions in assigned territory, industry or accounts.Use advanced storage expertise to seek out new opportunities for customer value by expanding and enhancing existing opportunities.Create and drive the storage sales pipeline. Capture leads outside of specialization and ensure assignment and follow-up by others.Collaborate with account pursuit teams to leverage solutions expertise for business development.Build sales readiness and reduce client learning curve through effective knowledge transfer in storage.Contribute to development of quota objectives and future direction for storage product lines.Direct and coordinate supporting sales activities related to pipeline hygiene through account managers, presales, channel partners and other relevant stakeholders.Use internal sales tools to maintain a healthy pipeline and the account plan in a timely fashion.Collaborate across HPE teams to deliver a consistent approach to developing business, including end-to-end account planning.Assess solution feasibility to determine qualify-in/qualify-out status.Negotiate and drive profitable deals to ensure successful closure and a high win rate.Drive sales of the storage portfolio with leadership and initiative to prospect, negotiate and close deals.Establish a professional consultative relationship with the client, including engagement with C-level for mid-to-large accounts.Leverage knowledge of competitors and industry trends to position the company's products and services.Focus on channel relationships, enablement of key technologies, and co-sell to end-users.Lead, evangelize, and coordinate Storage marketing campaigns to ensure successful launch and momentum aligned with account strategy.Act as a trusted storage solutions consultant for slated accounts/region.Articulate HPE's strategy and portfolio to partners and champions to uncover new business opportunities.Craft stories that simplify complex technologies for customers and generate interest, linking business and financial benefits with technology offerings.Cultivate and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure retention and growth.Support deal closure in partnership with account managers and channel partners.Education and ExperienceUniversity or Bachelor's degree preferred.Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quota; experience interfacing with diverse business customers at all levels.Minimum of 6 years of sales experience.Experience in storage sales preferred.Extensive vertical industry knowledge required.Project management experience required.Knowledge and SkillsStorage Specialist - Sales Acumen & Behaviors: ability to assess solution feasibility, negotiate and drive deals, hunter mentality, articulate technical and commercial benefits, knowledge of digital and modern sales methods, and proactive prospecting within accounts.Storage focus: expert knowledge of storage, cloud, solutions or services, awareness of competitors and partner/ISV solutions, and ability to differentiate HPE offerings.Solutions Acumen: consultative selling within industry and market segments; ability to up-sell and leverage portfolio and services.OtherEngage partners effectively and map the right partner to an opportunity; map partner skills to opportunities.Understanding of business models of service providers to engage and sell.LeadershipPersuades and negotiates; motivates and coaches peers; supports account growth and addresses customer/partner challenges.Demonstrates courage to take calculated risks; fosters trust and innovation within the team; recognizes and celebrates successes.Additional SkillsAccountability, active listening, communication, cross-functional teamwork, financial acumen, strategic thinking, and industry knowledge.What We Can Offer YouHealth & Wellbeing: comprehensive benefits for physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing.Personal & Professional Development: programs to help you reach career goals.Unconditional Inclusion: inclusive culture valuing varied backgrounds; flexibility and bold collaboration.HPE is an Equal Employment Opportunity / Veterans / Disabled / LGBT employer.
