As a Research Perfumer, you will stand between creativity and science, helping shape the next generation of olfactive molecules that define how the world smells tomorrow. You will improve our Fragrance Molecule Research activities, guiding creative discovery to lead new perfumery ingredients with imagination and artistry. As the primary voice of perfumery within our molecule research teams, you'll inspire every innovation with the essence of creativity. This role can be based in our Innovation Center in Kemptthal (Switzerland) or in Argenteuil (France) and reporting directly to the Head of Ingredients Research. In this exciting role you will: Be the creative antenna between perfumers and scientists — infusing artistic insight throughout all stages of new molecule development Be the voice of Perfumery in the molecule research organisation Select and evaluate new odorant molecules alongside global perfumers, balancing creativity with sensory, safety, sustainability, and product considerations Foster partnerships that bridge perfumery artistry with scientific expertise Champion the use of Givaudan proprietary materials and specialties to enrich fragrance creation Work globally with Perfumers in both Fine Fragrances and Consumer Products to help input to the palette of the future from a research perspective Build and manage a portfolio of winning test themes, optimizing for market and regulatory needs Stay informed about emerging olfactive trends, market developments, and consumer preferences to inspire fresh creative directions Your professional profile includes: University degree preferred in science or chemistry At least 10 years of experience as a creative Perfumer, with mastery of perfumery craft and portfolio development Experience with fragrance ingredients, formulation, and application across multiple categories Expert in collaboration and communication throughout the company and geographies Fluent written and spoken English; other languages (French, German) are an asset Technical proficiency with standard digital tools and fragrance creation systems Market Knowledge in the F&F industry; demonstrate a good understanding of general market dynamics, across multiple geographies Excellent opportunities for progressive learning and development Health insurance contributions Great compensation package including bonus Company pension scheme Discounts at the company shop Free Staff Parking At Givaudan, you contribute to delightful taste and scent experiences that touch people’s lives.
