Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Paris office location and should expect to be in office approximately 3 days per week.In the Sonos Voice Control team we design the future of AI based interactions to power music control and content discovery for Sonos customers on any control surfaces (Sonos hardware, Sonos Application, Sonos Voice Control).You will be leading our Cloud Services engineering team in charge of designing, developing and operating the cloud infrastructure behind the Sonos AI powered experiences such as Sonos Voice Control. You will collaborate with other bright minds in software development and machine learning to make Sonos experience joyful, responsive, accurate and private.ResponsibilitiesOversee a team of engineers (Currently 6 people) designing, developing and operating in production Sonos Voice Control and Sonos AI Cloud infrastructure. Design and implement robust cloud applications and infrastructure, monitor system performance, and promptly address issues in production.Work closely with other Sonos engineering teams to co‑design and build new experiences for Sonos customers. Bring to production the models designed by the ML teams and integrate Sonos Voice Control and other AI powered features into the Sonos software ecosystem.Collaborate with Product Management to support roadmap definition, establish technical feasibility and define cloud services architecture to achieve product goals.As a people leader, provide ambitious directions, clear goals and support team development.Foster collaboration inside and outside the team to realize Sonos’ vision.Apply industry best practices to continuously improve engineering processes, coding practices and cloud infrastructure reliability.Required Skills & ExperienceBasic Qualifications:10+ years of experience in Cloud Technologies engineering and shipped software products at scale in fast paced environments.Experience in SRE and operating cloud applications in production with high reliability/availability requirements.Strong technical background with ability to work closely with engineering teams, understand requirements and architectures.Experience as a manager of an engineering team with mentoring and development of people.Good written and oral communication skills; ability to explain engineering solutions to non‑technical stakeholders.Familiarity with agile manifesto and related project management methodologies.Highly flexible to adapt to unexpected organizational or technical changes and find solutions.Preferred QualificationsProgramming experience with Rust, ScalaExperience with functional programming languagesStrong knowledge of JVMExperience with NoSQL and SQL databasesExperience with AWS, KubernetesWe encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the skills listed.
