The company is a pioneer in global distributed collaboration with more than 1,200 colleagues in 80+ countries and very few office‑based roles.Location: remote in the EMEA region.About the roleWe are hiring a Golang Engineering Manager who will shoulder accountability for the design and development of an internal product, uphold high engineering quality standards, continuously develop their skills and those of direct reports, and drive delivery. This role is a key opportunity to work with great people and innovative open‑source solutions supporting Canonical’s growth.TeamsBilling – designs, develops, and operates a Golang service that turns metrics into billable amounts, enables customers to view current spend, and integrates with other systems.Livepatch – designs a service that delivers Linux kernel patches between maintenance windows, uses Golang‑based client and backend components.Key ResponsibilitiesAccountability for the designकर्ताओं and development of an internal product.Leading a team of Golang software engineers.Developing the skills and capabilities of direct reports.Seeking improvements to established processes, designs and solutions.Building an understanding of business needs to deliver maximum impact.QualificationsExceptional academic track record from both high school and university.Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.Track record of going above and beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results.Experience with software development in a high‑level language (Golang, Python, Java, etc.).Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.Result‑oriented and personal drive to meet commitments.Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long.Nice‑to‑HavePerformance engineering and SRE experience.Experience with accounting, sales, sales operations, or other business roles.BenefitsDistributed work environment with twice‑yearly team sprints in person.Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.Annual compensation review.Recognition rewards.Annual holiday leave.Maternity and paternity leave.Employee Assistance Program.Opportunity to travel to new locations to meet colleagues.Priority Pass and travel upgrades for long‑haul company events.Equal OpportunityCanonical is an equal opportunity employer.
