OverviewEmbedded Software Engineer position at OPENCHIP & SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES. Location: Montbonnot-Saint-Martin (near Grenoble). Start date: ASAP. Remote: Up to 2 days per week possible.About Openchip: a European Silicon Engineering Company headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. We develop System on Chip solutions based on Chiplet technology, combining RISC-V and compute acceleration for AI and HPC, interconnected with UCIe open interfaces. Our chips target High Performance Computing, Autonomous Driving, Telecommunications, Personalized Medicine, Edge Computing and Cloud.To support our growth, we are recruiting an Embedded Software Engineer for our DPU Software Engineering department.ResponsibilitiesLead or actively contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining low-level software for novel hardware architectures.Develop and maintain device drivers and tools for operating systems (mainly Linux) to expose hardware features (management, monitoring, etc.).Deliver production-quality software, including testing, documentation, static analysis, and CI integration.Contribute to design and validation of next-generation processors.Participate in board design and manufacturing phases (validation, qualification, production).Collaborate closely with SoC and board hardware design teams, as well as business line development teams.QualificationsTechnical skillsStrong expertise in C programming for embedded systems.Experience with Linux system environments, GNU toolchain, debugging tools (JTAG, GDB), and communication protocols (I²C, SPI, UART, etc.).Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby) and development tools for CI and version control (e.g., Git, Jenkins).Knowledge of bootloaders, firmware, and SoC bring-up.Ability to review schematics and contribute to board design.Nice To HaveKnowledge in Rust and Assembly for embedded systems.Knowledge in cybersecurity (secure boot, cryptography) and processor architecture (RISC-V).Soft Skills / ProfileGraduate degree (Engineer or PhD) in embedded software or equivalent.5+ years of experience in embedded software development.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English.Ability to innovate and propose effective solutions.Adaptable, flexible, and collaborative mindset.What We OfferContract: Permanent contract (CDI)Start date: ASAPLocation: Montbonnot-Saint-Martin (near Grenoble)Remote policy: Up to 2 days per week remote work possibleBenefits: Meal vouchers, Premium health coverage, Sustainable mobility incentives, Generous paternity leave, etc.Remuneration package reflective of experienceOpportunities for growth and career developmentJoin an innovative team and contribute to company growthChance to work on transformative AI and silicon engineering projects in EuropePotential travel to other European countries to meet teams and drive solutionsWe are looking for outstanding people willing to join our mission to change this industry and help build a better world.
