Job DescriptionAs a Xen Orchestra Backend Developer at Vates, you will join the Xen Orchestra (XO) backend team, playing a key role in enhancing our open-source platform. You will work on critical features like backup systems, APIs, and a variety of plugins (e.g., authentication, backup reporting). In addition to development, you will provide advanced support on these key functionalities. Working in an open-source environment, autonomy, collaboration, and responsiveness to user needs are essential.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backup systems within XODesign and manage both internal and external APIsCreate and improve plugins for authentication, backup reporting, and other functionalitiesProvide advanced technical support for the features you developParticipate in code reviews (Pull/Merge Requests) in collaboration with the teamFollow best development practices and contribute to continuous process improvementQualificationsProficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, especially with Node.jsBasic knowledge of Linux administration (systemd services, NFS mounts)Experience with git and Pull/Merge Request processesFluent in English, both written and spokenAbility to work independently, solve problems proactively, and seek help when neededEmpathy for users, with the ability to understand and address their needsFamiliarity with OpenAPI and SwaggerExperience with databases like Redis, LevelDB, SQLiteKnowledge of WebAssembly or RustFamiliarity with DevOps practices, especially Docker and KubernetesUnderstanding of Agile/Scrum methodologiesEmployment detailsType of contract: Full time (permanent contract)Location: Full remote, hybrid or on site (Grenoble, France)About the CompanyVates is a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization with a deep commitment to open, collaborative development.
