Within the Group, you will join the Group Underwriting Office department The GUO was created in 2023 to steer the performance of our insurance portfolio and support our reinforced focus on technical excellence. The platform also contributes to define our global ambition and approach to new emerging risks related to the energy transition and cyber in the coming years. Within this Department, you will be part of the P&C Retail UW team as Senior P&C Retail UW Solutions Manager. This role manages a team of 3. Your Role And Responsibilities The purpose of the position is to drive Operational Solutions in Retail UW tailored to local markets’ needs, ensuring efficient delivery, supporting innovation and operational excellence to create additional value within the organization. This role ensures seamless coordination with other central functions, notably in collaboration with technical counterparts (Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, …) while managing some strategic projects. The senior manager of the Retail Solutions team will receive yearly targets based on the following accountabilities: Lead and/or support P&C Retail projects assigned to the Solutions team, ensuring their timely and effective execution in alignment with Group and markets expectations. This encompasses: Support the identification, framing & priority definition of P&C RL business projects, leveraging business data analysis, market needs and capabilities assessment from entities & GUO P&C RL technical experts. Build up appropriate / scalable solutions, methodologies or toolkits to mitigate identified priority needs emerging from the markets, using pilots, internal or external sources, technology & AI. Support & follow‑up the implementation of solutions and assess their impact on performance. In particular, the team’s priority projects are to: Provide entities an automated tool & framework to map their distribution network footprint and help find efficiency opportunities. Develop underwriting best practices focused on prevention & inclusion initiatives. Support the roll‑out of other transversal strategic programs. Forge Market Innovation, Technology & AI view in relation to P&C Retail business, and notably: Maintain a continuous market view and insight, with active participation in conferences and proactive meetings with start–ups or vendors in the field of insurance. Research innovative solutions helping to resolve issues faced by entities. Identify & assess scalable digital solutions aimed at improving UW processes, in collaboration with AXA Group Operations (e.g. Agentic AI) initiatives. Co‑ordinate GenAI initiatives developed in the GUO P&C RL Underwriting Unit. Touchpoint with entities & foster technical culture, in close collaboration with the P&C Retail UW senior manager and technical experts’ Organise regular entity touchpoints to keep updated on operational developments. Develop and deploy a Retail platform to promote a unified environment where best practices, innovative tools, appropriate training courses or technical expertise are shared and implemented. Manage Value for Customer process in proper coordination with Compliance and P&C RL UW technical experts. YOUR PROFILE Technical Skills Around 8/10 years experience in insurance General knowledge of insurance products & client segments Highly disciplined project management skills with a proficient use of PowerPoint and Excel Easy understanding of financial figures connected to insurance activity monitoring Experience working in complex environments Knowledge of programming (such as SAS, or other AI languages) is not essential but skills in Microsoft tools is crucial Previous experience in managing a small team is a big plus Soft Skills Strong analytical, organisational, and data skills. Excellent communicator, confident in presentations. Able to influence stakeholders and sell ideas. Adaptable to diverse, multicultural environments. Experienced in delivering cross‑functional projects. Customer‑focused with a team‑oriented approach.
