OverviewProduct Manager - Cloud Native at CanonicalRemote role based in the EMEA region. Join to apply for the Product Manager - Cloud Native role at Canonical.Role and ResponsibilitiesLead the lifecycle of the product development by reviewing the priorities and goals for the products you are responsible for.Work closely with the engineering leads to oversee the product development process.Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales to address common challenges across projects, align on priorities, make informed decisions, and keep business execution on track.Conduct market research, analyse industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities and ensure alignment with Canonical's overall vision.Develop your team through coaching, mentoring and training.Establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate them across Canonical.Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.Contribute to the development of strategies to create and maintain high performing teams.Contribute to the success of our sales team in winning new opportunities by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.Product areas under this role include:Juju — the open source orchestration engine for software operators that enables deployment, integration and lifecycle management of applications at any scale, on any infrastructure using charms.Identity management — defining how authentication, authorization and identity governance controls are applied across Ubuntu One SSO and other Canonical products.Observability — outlining the strategy for how Canonical products and charms perform tracing and discern the underlying system health.Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region. You will be expected to be based in this region.What We Are Looking ForSeasoned product management experience in technical domains related to the usage and/or management of open source software in the cloud native landscape.Experience designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems.Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.Comprehensive knowledge of common enterprise security and compliance requirements in software operations.Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.Passion to write about technologies and experience in developer marketing.A strong work ethic, and personal interests aligned with the open source philosophy.Excellent communications skills in English, both verbal and written.Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.Nice-to-have skillsExperience with CNCF projects, identity or observability systems is a plus.Demonstrate insatiable intellectual curiosity and passion for the future of technology.Strong sense of ownership; responsibility for the product's and team's success.Problem solver with the ability to think out of the box and demonstrate visionary leadership.What We Offer YouDistributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person.Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.Annual compensation review and performance-based bonus/commission.Recognition rewards and annual holiday leave.Maternity and paternity leave and Employee Assistance Programme.Opportunity to travel to new locations to meet colleagues.Priority travel upgrades for long-haul company events.About CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source.
