- Own the end-to-end interaction with banks, from submitting the application package through processing the response
- Maintain and design new features within this functional scope
- Ensure code quality, architecture, and the reliability of critical workflows
- Design and industrialize bank-by-bank banking API connectors
- Improve the reliability of processing and historical tracking of bank responses and emails, including extraction using LLMs
- Collaborate with the Banking Team to translate lending processes and partner expectations into product features
- Instrument workflows and analyze submission times, failure rates, and the quality of transmitted application packages
- Serve as the technical point of contact for bank relationships with the Banking Team and partner technical teams
- Share domain knowledge with product and operations teams
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team comprising backend and frontend developers, a product manager, a designer, and a data scientist
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer
- Eagerness to understand the mortgage lending business, lending criteria, and banks’ expectations
- Ability to communicate with business teams and external partners
- Experience integrating with third-party systems, evolving API contracts, retryable errors, and states that need to be reconciled
- Product-oriented mindset and experience collaborating with product managers and designers
- Creativity and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- Autonomy, rigor, and curiosity
