Product Manager

Product Manager – Canonical Join Canonical, the global leader in open‑source software and the creators of Ubuntu, as a Product Manager. You will set vision, prioritize work, and guide cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products that help enterprises innovate in cloud, AI/ML, IoT, telco, finance, automotive, and more. Location: Home‑based in the EMEA time zone. You must be located within this region. Role Overview Lead the product development lifecycle, reviewing priorities and goals for your product. Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing and sales to align on strategy. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify new opportunities. Communicate vision, status updates and key decisions to ensure alignment across the organization. Lead usability testing, analyze user feedback, and iterate to improve the experience. Partner with marketing and sales to develop go‑to‑market strategies, create product documentation and provide training. Contribute to the sales team’s success by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings. Oversee the work of a product line, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution across teams. Facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts within and across teams. Key Requirements Exceptional academic performance at high school and university. Strong understanding of Linux and the open‑source community. Knowledge of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud or embedded devices. Passion for writing about technology and the tech landscape. Strong work ethic, continuous learning mindset, and ownership mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Product‑management experience in the software industry (preferred for senior positions). Ability to manage multiple projects or product lines while maintaining focus on key priorities. Proven leadership in aligning diverse teams and driving consensus around product strategies. Willingness to travel internationally up to four times a year for company events up to two weeks. Additional Skills That We Value Familiarity with specific verticals (e.g., telco, finance, industrial, automotive). Knowledge of the technology ecosystem including silicon, IHV, ISV, ODM/OEMs, cloud providers and channel partners. Experience with cloud‑native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker containers, and Snaps. Experience with embedded and connected device technology and ecosystems. Understanding of networking technologies (ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, routing, firewalls, overlays, VPNs, SR‑IOV, infiniband). Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
