We are seeking a talented individual to serve as a crucial technical partner, supporting our R&D teams in implementing Design for Robotics & Automation (DfRA) principles and guiding our manufacturing sites through the successful deployment of robotic and automated solutions. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Industrialization teams and other stakeholders to identify and evaluate high‑impact opportunities for robotic and automated solutions. Lead the development, implementation, and promotion of DfRA guidelines and best practices; act as a primary coach and subject‑matter expert for R&D teams. Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies for the product portfolio to analyze potentials and risks for robotic and automated manufacturing processes. Integrate DfRA assessments into the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and recommend design changes to enhance automation efficiency. Explore and facilitate the implementation of advanced AI techniques (e.g., computer vision, machine learning) for robotic path planning, automated quality inspection, and adaptive process control. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, functional specifications, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives for DfRA. Qualifications Strong experience with collaborative robots, mobile robotics (AGVs/AMRs), or highly flexible/reconfigurable robotic systems suitable for high‑variant production. Deep understanding of DfRA principles and methodologies, including identifying design elements that enable or hinder automation, modularity, part presentation, and assembly sequence optimization. Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo) and robotic simulation software for product design evaluation, modification, and assembly simulations. Background in product design principles, engineering mechanics, and materials science, with an emphasis on how these influence automated manufacturing. Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, fabrication, welding, inspection) and their suitability for robotization and automation. Practical experience applying AI/ML for robotic vision inspection, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, or adaptive process control. Collaborative team player, excellent communication and presentation skills, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional teams or projects. Education Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field. Experience 8+ years of progressive experience in robotics, automation engineering, or a closely related field, with a proven track record of leading complex projects, driving DfRA adoption, and successfully deploying robotic and automated solutions in high‑variant, low‑quantity environments.
