The Institute for Translational Medicine and Liver Disease (ITM),Inserm U1110, University of Strasbourg France, is looking for a medical doctor to join our translational liver disease and cancer program as a physician scientist in a three-year program. The program is focussed to unravel novel strategies to treat hepatobiliary fibrosis (such as MASH and PSC) and liver cancer including hepatocellular and cholangiocarcinoma and is based on key scientific discoveries described in: Mailly et al. Nature Biotech 2015, Hamdane et al. Gastroenterology 2019, Juehling et al. Gut 2021, Crouchet et al. Nat. Commun. 2021, Roehlen et al. Science Transl. Med 2022, Roehlen et al. J. Hepatol. 2023, Del Zompo et al. J Hepatol 2025, Saviano et al. Nature Reviews Cancer 2026, Slovic et al. Hepatology 2026, Crouchet et al., JCI 2025; Nehme et al. Science Transl. Med 2026.

Profile

A medical doctor following completion of medical studies, in training or following specialization in internal medicine, gastroenterology, surgery, oncology (board certification not required) with a first experience and strong interest in biomedical research, and the ambition to contribute to an innovative program. Strong communicator with solid command of English (French is not required). Drive and motivation to execute a project in translational research. You thrive in a fast-paced and exciting scientific environment with the opportunity for contributing to a biomedical translational research program in Hepatology.
