Role Overview
The Senior Information & Control Manager will provide leadership and oversight for document control and information management across Verne Development, establishing consistent standards, governance and ways of working across projects and functions. The role will combine organisational ownership of document control with hands‑on oversight of information requirements across multiple projects, both internally and externally.
Reporting to the Group Projects Director, the successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation, performance and continuous improvement of information management systems and processes. The role will work across Verne, including Engineering, Legal and Finance, and will partner closely with the leadership team, project teams, contractors, consultants and vendors.
The role will ensure that project and organisational information is accurate, controlled, accessible and appropriately governed throughout its lifecycle, while supporting effective project delivery, operational handover and organisational learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Control Leadership & Governance: Provide organisational leadership for document control and information management across Verne Development, establishing a consistent framework, standards, procedures and governance requirements across projects and functions.
- Standards & Best Practice: Develop, implement and maintain document control policies, procedures, templates, naming conventions, metadata standards and document lifecycle requirements, ensuring a consistent approach across the organisation.
- Systems & Processes: Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of document and information management systems, ensuring they are scalable, effective and aligned with the needs of the growing organisation.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Engineering, Development, Legal, Finance and other business functions to establish clear document ownership, workflows, review and approval processes, access requirements and retention standards.
- Project Document Control: Lead and oversee document control requirements across multiple projects, ensuring project teams, contractors, consultants and vendors comply with agreed processes and information management standards.
- Information Quality & Assurance: Establish appropriate controls to maintain the accuracy, completeness, traceability, security and accessibility of project and organisational documentation throughout its lifecycle.
- Compliance & Audit Readiness: Ensure document control processes provide appropriate records and audit trails to support contractual, regulatory, governance and internal assurance requirements.
- Contractor & Supplier Management: Define document control requirements for contractors, consultants and vendors, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and compliance is monitored throughout project delivery.
- Project Handover & Operational Readiness: Establish and oversee processes for the structured handover of project documentation, ensuring complete and accurate information is transferred from development and construction into operations.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong working relationships with project teams, senior leadership and key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring information requirements are understood and effectively managed.
- Communication & Coordination: Establish effective communication and information-sharing processes across projects and functions, ensuring stakeholders receive accurate and timely information at appropriate stages of project delivery.
