The Difference You Will Make This is a high‑impact, highly visible Public Policy Project Manager role, focused on short‑term rental (STR) regulatory compliance and implementation across France. Reporting to the Public Policy, Compliance & Partnerships Programme Manager, you will play a critical role in project‑managing complex regulatory and policy initiatives that directly affect Airbnb’s platform, hosts, and listings across France. This work is closely monitored by senior EMEA leadership and has real, tangible business and policy impact. More precisely, you will work on a broad range of regulatory compliance and partnership initiatives, including European STR regulation, data‑sharing obligations, registration and capping requirements, Airbnb’s City and Data Portals, and tourism tax discussions. The ideal candidate brings strong project management and execution skills; this role is approximately 75 % focused on driving complex, cross‑functional projects linked to regulatory compliance and implementation. You also bring a solid public policy or regulatory foundation, with the ability to engage confidently with public authorities and policy stakeholders. You are highly organised, comfortable working in ambiguity, and fluent in French with strong professional English. This is an 18‑month fixed‑term contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent role depending on business needs and individual performance. A Typical Day Monitor relevant news sources related to regulatory discussions and key local markets overseen by the team, and suggest actions in line with the latest developments. Demonstrate strong ownership and a keen ability to assess risk, enabling effective prioritisation of the most impactful strategic projects (esp. with external stakeholders such as consultants, local associations, political organisations, etc.) without neglecting short‑term requests and opportunistic tactics. Advise Airbnb’s teams on public policy matters to guide the development of compliance products and content. Manage the operational implementation of national and local policy proposals and legislative measures, working with colleagues in a wide range of internal teams such as Legal, Comms, Sales, Community and Product. Act as Airbnb’s representative in meetings with government and political stakeholders, in coalitions and collaborations to advance and communicate Airbnb’s advocacy and compliance initiatives. Support the management of external consultants who provide on‑the‑ground support, ensuring they are properly briefed, meet deadlines and provide sufficient value. Your Expertise At least five years of project‑management experience working with political, regulatory or compliance issues in a relevant business or non‑governmental organization, or in a political, governmental or regulatory context. Ideally, this experience has been built in travel, urbanism, or technology. Experience managing regulatory or compliance projects with multiple internal stakeholders; highly organised and able to stay on top of multiple projects simultaneously. An eye for detail – with an ability to very quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues. Eagerness to work in a multi‑task environment while producing the highest calibre output in a timely manner. Proven ability to establish networks with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communicator with great interpersonal, writing and presentation skills. Ability to work independently as well as on cross‑functional projects, displaying a true team spirit – the team you will be working with has a great dynamic built on trust, team‑player attitude and shared objectives. How We’ll Take Care Of You The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range shown below is annualised, is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
