Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to our customers’ cloud services. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. We are looking for talented people to help. We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for Installation Technicians. This is an entry level position and a unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast paced data centers in the world. The Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data center infrastructure. As part of that team, you will be primarily tasked with installing cabling and new racks within the data centers. You must be able to perform repetitive tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices. You will be working in a team environment and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality. Key responsibilities Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center. Installation and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling. Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices. Creating/attaching labels and barcodes. Managing inventory of related materials. Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures. Physical requirements This position has a physical component and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations. Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations). Regularly work at heights and from ladders. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of structured cabling (Copper/Fiber) installation experience. Complete understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for various cabling systems (Copper/Fiber test equipment, OTDR, Network analyzer, VFL, etc.). Ability to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces. Ability to lift up to 16 kg with two-person support or equipment. Preferred Qualifications Several years of data center structured cabling infrastructure experience. General comprehension of the components and sub-components of data center infrastructure.
