Senior MEMS Development Engineer – Design & Fabrication Join to apply for the Senior MEMS Development Engineer – Design & Fabrication role at MagnetFab. We are seeking an inventive Senior MEMS Development Engineer with proven industry experience to join our team. This cornerstone role will be the in‑house specialist responsible for the full MEMS development cycle, from design and simulation to cleanroom fabrication and experimental validation. Your expertise will be vital in driving proof‑of‑concept development and managing key relationships with our external partners, including research institutes, industrial collaborators, and foundries. What You Will Do Lead the complete design cycle for MEMS devices and microsystems (concept, architecture, and detailed design), ensuring alignment with industry standards. Perform multiphysics modeling (mechanical, magnetic, acoustic, thermal) to optimize designs. Define, document, and continuously improve MEMS and sensor process flows. Drive root cause analysis, Design of Experiments (DoE), and yield improvement efforts. Direct all device testing and validation activities, including data analysis and model correlation. Interface with external partners, including research institutes, industrial collaborators, and foundries. Actively contribute to invention disclosures and patent filings to generate IP. Maintain technical leadership by staying at the forefront of microfabrication, MEMS, and sensor industry trends. What You Bring Education: MSc or PhD in Microengineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field. Experience: 10+ years of significant industry experience with a proven track record in MEMS design and integration, covering the full development cycle from concept to validation. Simulation skills: Expertise in multiphysics simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, Ansys), with a demonstrated ability to use them for MEMS device design and optimization. Fabrication expertise: Strong background and hands‑on skills in micro‑ and nanofabrication, gained specifically within a cleanroom environment. Languages: Professional working proficiency in both English and French. Soft skills: Demonstrated proactive attitude, strong autonomy, and initiative in project management and problem‑solving. Must possess an open, flexible mindset with a positive approach to challenges and change.
