Offer Description

As part of an ANR [French National Research Agency] project between LATMOS and INRIA, the project aims to compute wet-bulb temperature, a habitability and thermal stress index, from satellite data, and in particular the IASI and IASI-NG missions operated by LATMOS. The postdoc will employ deep learning approaches using satellite data and ground stations.

  • -Understanding the infrared data from the IASI mission and identifying the channels needed for wet-bulb temperature retrieval
  • -Co-locating satellite data with ground-based HadISD stations
  • -Running neural networks and finding the architecture best suited to a case study on India
  • -Participating in conferences and meetings, and writing a paper

The postdoc will be based at LATMOS within the Atmospheres department, with regular/weekly visits to INRIA. LATMOS has access to IPSL's computing cluster. Access to Jean Zay is also possible.
