Senior Software Engineer

What you'll be doingFuture is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in web and software applications development and Agile team work, to join our development team in Grenoble (Hybrid role remote/office in Echirolles).As part of a small, highly-collaborative and experienced development team, and in collaboration with our European R&D, you will contribute to building key services and applications of our technology stack, which delivers and monetizes millions of online content pages daily from our specialized editorial hubs (over 100 digital brands including TechRadar, Tom's Guide, PC Gamer, AndroidCentral, iMore, etc…).You’ll work closely with other members within our current tech environment – Java/Kotlin/Spring, TypeScript/React, Gitlab CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, AWS, MongoDb, InfluxDb, AI/ML: LLM‑powered features integrated into our services, etc. – and our next generation’s stack, with strong performance and scalability constraints. You’ll collaborate in an environment that values team decisions and self‑organization, collective ownership, continuous improvement, and high‑quality, well‑tested, easy‑to‑maintain code; we also leverage AI assistants when it makes sense—while maintaining full human ownership, review, and accountability for the code. You will experiment with new technologies and tools to find suitable solutions for efficient and sustainable development.Main ResponsibilitiesYou provide technical leadership and foster shared ownership, shaping the right solutions to our business needs while safeguarding and evolving the platform for long‑term sustainability.You deliver solutions end‑to‑end, setting the standard for high‑performing, robust and maintainable code with automated tests, and providing (and improving) operational support for the platform, with a strong focus on observability, reliability, and incident response.You participate in the team’s frequent, safe, release cadence—helping ensure production readiness, coordinating with Product/Business, and placing particular emphasis on observability: robust monitoring, alerting, and post‑deployment technical and functional validation.You collaborate closely with the team at a senior level to evolve our codebase and tooling—co‑defining and upholding standards for maintainability, performance, and scalability—leading improvements to integration/deployment pipelines, proactively managing technical debt with clear roadmaps, and evaluating and introducing technologies that create leverage.Experience that will put you ahead of the curveYou are passionate about architecting and delivering complex, integrated systems across multiple technologies, and you advocate for robust, maintainable code.You have experience in web development or service‑oriented architecture, on the backend (Java/Kotlin, Spring is a plus) and frontend development (JavaScript/TypeScript, React), ideally in a high‑availability, high‑performance cloud environment.You have strong, hands‑on experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools and practices—such as GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies—and you continuously deepen your expertise.You enjoy teamwork and have practical experience with agile organization and team responsibility, and the use of standards such as XP and clean code.You thrive in collaborative, agile teams, take shared ownership of outcomes, and bring deep, hands‑on experience such as XP, TDD, clean code, and continuous improvement.You communicate effectively in distributed settings and have working proficiency in English—comfortable participating in regular meetings, collaborating asynchronously.What's in it for youThis is a Hybrid role from our Grenoble Office, 1 day a week and 4 days from home.… Plus more great perks, which include;When we hit our targets, enjoy a share of our profits with a bonusRefer a friend and get rewarded when they join FutureAccess to Private Medical InsuranceInternal job family level Technology 6Who are we…We're Future, the global leader in specialist media.
