Brief presentation of MAXIS GBN and the role The MAXIS Global Benefits Network has been jointly created by AXA and MetLife in 1998. In 2016, AXA and MetLife further strengthened their existing partnership with the launch of MAXIS GBN as a joint venture company. MAXIS GBN was created to handle all managerial and administrative services related to: The MAXIS Global Benefits Network comprising 140 local insurance companies the ‘’MAXIS Members’’ in 120 markets. All the MAXIS Members, to the extent it is legally feasible, are reinsured by AXA, the central reinsurer of the MAXIS Network. MAXIS GBN manages the reinsurance set‑up and its administration. The global employee benefits programs and services for multinational clients and their subsidiaries. The MAXIS GBN products are mainly pooling solution and captive services to pass all risks across the line to the client’s captive insurance company. AXA and MetLife, as the joint risk carriers, delegate part of the technical activities to MAXIS GBN. You will be part of the team representing AXA as the reinsurer in this setup, overseeing the application of the delegation of technical authority and validating matters that fall outside the scope of the delegation. Main responsibilities and missions As a Life and Health Underwriter, you will support in the technical work needed to control the work of MAXIS and ensure the profitable growth for the MAXIS portfolio of Captive and Pool global programs. Your main mission will be to carry out the following tasks: Review, study and validate new business / renewal policy referrals from MAXIS Underwriters, and work on getting the necessary internal AXA Health approvals if needed (referrals are for large deals or substandard risks exceeding MAXIS UW delegation). Participate in the MAXIS Underwriting Committee, and Technical Committees, which are regular committees composed of AXA, MetLife and MAXIS GBN members to discuss and decide on ongoing diverse technical topics. Assess and control the collateral studies done to eliminate credit counterparty risk related to Captive business and monitor the implementation of collaterals. Assess and follow MAXIS reviews done for specific focus Pool clients or Members identified for profitability rehabilitation, follow the action plan and monitor until completion. Validate MAXIS UW renewal strategy and monitor its implementation. Monitor and control MAXIS underwriting and technical functions to ensure the profitability of the business for AXA as a reinsurer. Support in the implementation of contracts, advising AXA and MAXIS Legal colleagues with business/technical aspects in contractual drafting negotiations. You have 3 to 5 years of experience in Life and Health Underwriting or similar functions. You have demonstrated an exposure to international markets in your previous role(s), you want to further explore new markets, and you enjoy working across various territories and cultures. You are autonomous, used to making decisions and taking calculated actions, even when facing uncertainty. You have the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet simultaneous deadlines. Accordingly, you are required to possess the below skills: Excellent command of spoken and written English. French proficiency is a plus. Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills. Excellent command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Responsiveness to ongoing and future events and having the creativity and courage to propose new ideas.
