Responsibilities Identifying user goals, behaviors, and motivations by conducting research such as interviews, usability testing, field studies and heuristic evaluations. Analyzing and presenting results from which the design team, the product team and engineers can prioritize and work on fixing them. Translating results of your research into actionable recommendations through written reports and in-person presentations. Advocating for users while understanding the business goals of the stakeholders and the company. Working with more experienced researchers to build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to embed research into all stages of product development. Building a solid understanding of the business needs of the product/system and the needs of the end users. Helping the Sr. expand UX Research as a discipline at HID Global, including standardizing methodologies and metrics. Qualifications BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interactions (HCI) or related field (e.g., computer science, psychology, etc.) or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience in a UX researcher role. Strong interest in research, design and software building in an agile environment. Knowledge and experience with conducting research using various methods including usability testing, field studies, heuristic evaluation, etc. Ability to communicate research findings to different audiences and varying levels of the organization through written reports and in-person presentations. Proven track record of task automation or improved efficiency. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Desirable but not required Knowledge of web and/or design standards. User research experience with technical audiences, such as engineers/developers. Previous experience conducting research for products. Previous experience with other user research methodologies.
