OverviewThe Direct Material Senior commodity manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring direct materials required for battery manufacturing. This role ensures the continuous supply of high-quality materials at competitive prices, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and adhering to Verkor policies.ResponsibilitiesCompetitive: Sourcing and Procurement — Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure the best terms for price, quality, delivery and EHSCompetitive: Cost Management — Monitor market trends & geopolitics to identify cost-saving opportunitiesCost analysis and cost reduction initiativesReporting — Prepare and present sourcing reviews at tactical and strategic levels, including key performance metricsResilient: Supplier Performance — Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conduct performance reviews, and manage supplier performance improvement activitiesDefine tactics and strategy to ensure uninterrupted deliveriesCross-Functional Collaboration — Work closely with other departments, such as engineering, production, and quality assurance, to align sourcing strategies with overall business goalsResponsible: Compliance — Ensure all procurement activities comply with purchasing guidelines and relevant regulationsPromote sustainable procurement practices and work with suppliers to improve their environmental and social performance as well as their alignment to Verkor Code of ConductEthical Sourcing — Ensure that all materials are sourced ethically and responsibly, adhering to industry standards and company policiesRequirementsQualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the battery or related industriesStrong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of market trends, supplier evaluation, and cost analysisSkills and Attributes: Analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and professionalismSeniority levelNot ApplicableEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionPurchasing and Supply ChainIndustriesMotor Vehicle Parts Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
