Energy and Environment Analyst OECD - OCDE Company DescriptionThe Organisation for Economic Co‑Operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation of 38 member countries focused on building better policies for better lives. It promotes evidence‑based policies, international standards and solutions for social, economic and environmental challenges. Its International Energy Agency (IEA) works on energy policy and sustainability, including methane emissions analysis and advice to governments and industry. Job Description Analytical work on methane emissions Collect and analyse data for the annual Global Methane Tracker, including scientific literature, company reports, satellite and remote sensing data. Improve estimates of emissions and abatement costs. Draft relevant sections and special pieces of analysis. Policy and regulatory analysis Track and analyse policy and regulatory developments in key countries. Formulate clear and actionable recommendations for policy makers and regulators. Support broader IEA activities with analytical, written and verbal contributions on methane emissions. Participate in preparing other analytical pieces within OCEE, such as the World Energy Investment report and country/outlook analyses. Liaison and Outreach Collaborate with other divisions, national and international organisations, the energy industry and research bodies on methane analysis. Prepare for meetings of IEA committees, working parties and international organisations; support report and information item development. Build and maintain contacts with relevant governmental bodies, industry representatives and other stakeholders. Organise capacity‑building activities: create materials, run trainings and present IEA outputs on methane. Qualifications Academic Background Advanced university degree(s) in engineering, mathematics or economics. Professional Background 3‑7 years of applied economic and policy analysis, preferably in an energy context. Excellent understanding of energy sector dynamics and quantitative skills. Proven analytical abilities and strong writing skills (reports, papers). Tools Excellent command of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Access and Power Query. Languages Fluency in one OECD official language (English/French) and commitment to reach good working level in the other.
