Dining Worker – MSU Residential and Hospitality Services Job Description As an On‑Call Retail Branded Concepts team member, you will assist all staff with all aspects of the operation. You are the face of the operation, helping customers with purchases, including food and drink orders, explaining current promotions, addressing guest concerns, and delivering outstanding Spartan experiences (DOSE) in every interaction. Some duties include cooking and serving food. You must be knowledgeable about all relevant food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure safe handling and serving of all food and drink items. Typical Duties Deliver outstanding Spartan experiences (DOSE) in every interaction Assist customers with purchases, including food and drink orders, and address guest concerns during the shift Explain current promotional opportunities to customers and team members Troubleshoot operational/equipment problems and site needs at assigned location Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the site through daily rounds and cleaning during the shift and after close Produce daily food as assigned, using knowledge of food safety regulations and guidelines Operate cash register/POS system and follow all cash handling procedures Know store products and wayfinding within the site Stock, maintain displays, practice FIFO, and monitor inventory levels Move products to other Retail Services sites as requested Complete special projects assigned by managers and site coordinators Maintain a high degree of employee morale and demonstrate a positive, professional work approach Communicate with supervisors, managers, and team members to ensure excellent teamwork, service, and customer assistance Assist with special event preparation and service as needed Work at athletic events at sporting venues and Ag Pavilion Lift and move up to 50 pounds Stand, walk >90% of shift Bend and straighten at waist and/or squat repeatedly throughout shift Required Qualifications Strong desire to deliver outstanding Spartan experiences to guests and teammates Effectively communicate with supervisors, managers, and team members while remaining positive and respectful Accept constructive direction, quickly and efficiently implementing improvements to products and service Be flexible and be reassigned during the shift as needed Maintain personal hygiene standards consistent with sanitation rules and regulations Basic computer skills for online compliance training and register use Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision Lift and move up to 25 pounds, stand/walk for long periods Bend and straighten at waist or squat repeatedly during shift Work flexible and varied shifts, including early mornings (possible start 6:00 AM), nights, late nights, and weekends Preferred Qualifications Customer service experience Desire to grow skillset Reliable personal transportation Equal Employment Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status.
