Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Apprentice to join our team at Altrad. As a Payroll Apprentice, you will assist the team in the accurate processing of weekly payroll, learn how to process various types of pay, and ensure compliance with statutory legislation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the team in processing weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Learn how to process sickness, paternity, and maternity pay, as well as other types of pay
  • Check exception reports and amend any errors
  • Calculate overpayments and send out letters for SSP, SPP, and SMP payments
  • Deal with queries from employees and third parties
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, including auto-enrolment processes and RTI reporting to HMRC
  • Manual payments to employees where required
  • Attend relevant payroll classes for the apprenticeship course
  • Complete coursework for the apprenticeship course
Requirements
  • Accuracy and numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Liaise with Operations Managers, employees, and third parties, including B & CE, HMRC, and DWP
