Membership Sales and Marketing Director

We are seeking an experienced Membership Sales and Marketing Director to join our team at The Royal Fox & Grove Country Clubs.

Job Summary:

The Membership Sales and Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase and retain membership in our club. This includes conducting tours for prospective members, calling and requesting active members to make personal referrals, and planning and implementing strategies to meet club membership goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tours for prospective members and provide information about our club's amenities and services
  • Call and request active members to make personal referrals and assist with recruitment efforts
  • Plan and implement strategies to meet club membership goals, including developing and ensuring that established procedures for processing prospective members' applications are consistently followed
  • Follow up on telemarketing efforts, member referrals, leads from staff, catering contracts, newspaper articles, lists, publications, etc.
  • Assist prospective members in fulfilling application requirements and promote club activities using table tents, newsletters, direct mail flyers, notices on the club website, and other means
  • Coordinate with the Events Manager the updating of the club's master calendar and maintain online member directory
  • Hold prospective member functions and process member resignations; develop reports and undertake special projects as applicable if membership retention problems arise
  • Determine markets to be canvassed for qualified individuals and complete and maintain perpetual member invitee roster
  • Assess the need for and make recommendations regarding membership classifications to help ensure that the needs of ever-changing markets are met
  • Be present during club operating hours and events to assist in meeting and greeting members and guests
  • Research the need for ongoing sales promotions regarding demographics, market segmentation data, etc.
  • Track the success and overall performance of all membership activities
  • Coordinate all club public relations efforts, members' newsletters, news and media events, use of social media, and club promotional materials
  • Attend management and staff meetings and develop and adhere to a departmental budget; after approval, monitor and take corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are attained
  • Report approved new members to the Controller to initiate proper administration of their memberships; ensure that applications are completely and properly filled out, that initiation fees are collected, and that new members understand the privileges and costs of becoming a member
  • Maintain club's member bulletin boards and work with the Food and Beverage Department as needed to coordinate special member events
  • Take photographs of members and club officers at social events and survey other clubs for information useful in setting and revising club membership policies
  • Oversee the administration of all membership rules and regulations to ensure consistency in interpretation and application; update club rules and regulations and keep members informed of changes
  • Complete other appropriate assignments made by the General Manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality or resort management, communications, public relations, or related major
  • Three years of work experience in the hospitality industry
  • Five years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisory/administrative staff, employees, guests, and the public
  • Direct and oversee the activities of the Membership Department and control its budget
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations
