About the Role
Principal Asset Management is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Advisor to join their Paris office on a permanent basis. This role offers an opportunity to join a global asset manager with the successful candidate joining part of the European compliance team, responsible for our SCPI business in France.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage daily compliance activities, providing guidance on compliance matters and ensuring that regulatory changes are implemented effectively.
• Assist in reporting and supporting the SCPI boards, including presenting findings from compliance controls and audits.
• Conduct regular compliance controls to identify and mitigate risks.
• Conduct thematic reviews on dedicated regulation (AML, MIFII, PRIIPs) to ensure the framework is exhaustive and designed effectively.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework and monitoring program to ensure the existence of effective and robust systems and controls.
• Draft communications and maintain the relationship with the AMF, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to the AMF as required.
Requirements
• University degree or equivalent work experience in compliance or legal.
• 1-3 years experience working in a compliance role within the financial services industry.
• Previous experience with real estate investment vehicles, such as SCPIs or other real estate funds is advantageous.
• Fluent in French and English, with German language skills being desirable.
• Knowledge or local regulatory requirements applicable to the French real estate framework, including SCPI.
• Knowledge of regulatory issues and the ability to react quickly to new trends in regulation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with multiple departments across the local and global business including third party service providers and auditors.
