Department Overview
The Global Risk Management (GRM) department plays a crucial role in delivering an independent assessment of risks across all investment teams and entities within AXA IM. The Investment Risk Analysis team is integral to this mission, ensuring that all portfolios align with client objectives, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent evaluations and management of various Investment Risks, including Market, Credit, Counterparty, Liquidity, Performance, and Valuation Risks associated with AXA IM's investment operations in France.
- Lead or assist in project-based activities aimed at enhancing global risk frameworks, particularly in areas such as Liquidity and Counterparty Risk.
- Collaborate with other GRM teams to provide risk analysis support as required.
Accountabilities
As a leader in risk identification and measurement, the Investment Risk Analyst will engage regularly with business and risk committees. The primary responsibilities include:
- Evaluating new investment strategies, products, and instruments from a risk perspective, focusing on market, credit, liquidity, and valuation risks.
- Establishing investment guidelines and analyzing remediation plans for any potential breaches.
- Maintaining ongoing awareness of portfolio risk positioning through the use of third-party risk systems and internal tools.
- Continuously reviewing AXA IM's risk control framework to ensure compliance with both internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Enhancing risk frameworks by improving coverage, indicators, stress testing, and monitoring/reporting processes.
Reporting
Provide regular updates to senior management regarding portfolio risk positioning and the effectiveness of risk oversight processes.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk or portfolio management roles within Investment Banking or Asset Management.
- Strong understanding of various asset classes, derivatives, and their associated risk modeling.
- Proficient in IT, with the ability to develop monitoring and reporting tools (VBA, Python, Access/SQL) and familiarity with standard risk analysis software.
- Knowledge of Structured Credit, Riskmetrics, and Tableau is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks independently and deliver high-quality analysis and outputs in a timely manner.
- Ability to present clear summaries and findings to management, effectively communicating key points in various meetings.
- Proactive in identifying potential challenges and escalating issues to management as necessary.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of building relationships within and outside the immediate team.
