The Early Development Project Management Leader will be an integral part of the Research & External Innovation division, reporting directly to the VP of Early Portfolio Strategy & Operations.

This role encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • Drive PMO Transformation: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing PM support activities to align with evolving business requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Operate within a dynamic matrix environment, contributing to strategic projects and engaging with senior management.
  • Project Management: Act as Project Manager for early development programs, facilitating cross-functional integration of PM activities such as resource forecasting and community engagement.
  • Decision Facilitation: Enable informed, science-based business decisions by generating various development scenarios and analyzing interdependencies and impacts on timelines and budgets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project leaders to prepare and present progress reports and decision-making materials to governance bodies and senior management.
  • Operational Point of Contact: Serve as the primary project management liaison for early development team members, ensuring timely provision of supportive materials for tax credit requests.
  • Capacity Coordination: Oversee the consolidation of information regarding functional capacity, liaising with relevant teams to maintain updated capacity planning.
  • Training Maintenance: Uphold community training programs and drive necessary PMO transformation initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for PMO process enhancements and collaborate with the VP of Early Portfolio Strategy to define transformation projects.

This role is characterized by a high degree of autonomy and extensive cross-functional collaboration, necessitating the development of effective interfaces with key stakeholders across various functions within Ipsen, including R&D, Business Units, Finance, HR, Marketing, Sales, and Legal.

As the organization progresses, this position may evolve to encompass people management responsibilities, including oversight of a team of project managers supporting early development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent business school education.
  • Scientific background; a PhD is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectors, with at least 5 years in discovery or early development, including a minimum of 3 years in project management or leadership roles.
  • Experience in managing teams, either formally or informally.

Language Requirements:

  • Minimum: English
  • Ideal additional language: French

Skills:

  • Significant experience in cross-functional team management.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects, and collaborative tools (preferably Teams/SharePoint).
  • Adept at managing confidential information effectively.
