Job Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Conduct daily assessments of pump conditions, including temperature, performance, and vibration metrics utilizing online process data.
- Review mechanical tasks completed the previous day to update lubrication schedules and vibration records.
- Carry out mechanical inspections and report any irregularities to Supervisors.
- Execute oil sampling in accordance with the annual oil analysis schedule, complete the oil sample identification form, and coordinate transfer to the onshore maintenance team.
- Perform alignment checks based on detailed vibration analysis recommendations.
- Support the mechanical team during alignment tasks.
- Conduct infrared thermographic surveys alongside the electrical maintenance team.
- Execute infrared thermographic surveys on uncoated vessels to monitor sand accumulation.
- Collect detailed vibration data, upload it to the vibration database, and perform initial analysis of the results. Gather vibration signatures following mechanical refurbishments such as bearing, electrical motor, and wear ring replacements.
- Ensure compliance with COMPANY's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, particularly regarding Work Permit procedures, as well as adherence to approved operational procedures and industry standards during maintenance preparations.
Methodologies
- Alert the mechanical maintenance team of any potential mechanical issues identified through vibration surveys and daily inspections.
- Inform the Mechanical Supervisor about the progress of scheduled oil replacement activities.
- Monitor any work backlog in the assigned area and recommend corrective actions to the onshore conditional maintenance coordinator if the backlog becomes unmanageable.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within offshore oil and gas environments.
- Possession of a Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Proficient in detailed vibration data collection and analysis, with the ability to upload data to the vibration database and conduct preliminary analysis of results, while ensuring monthly backups are sent to onshore for comprehensive evaluation and tracking of approved corrective actions.
- Skilled in conducting and interpreting thermographic surveys, with the capability to monitor the condition of pumps and turbines using online process data and recommend preventive measures to mitigate failures.
- Familiarity with spectrographic oil analysis techniques.
