Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned and skilled people leader to join our team as a R&D Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a multidisciplinary team, leveraging technical experience, skills in aligning and motivating team members, and ability to work with stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, grow, and lead a multidisciplinary scientific R&D team, ensuring effective communication and adoption of Nutropy's vision and OKRs.
- Organize and coordinate R&D departments and projects to achieve objectives set by the Executive Management.
- Ensure a proper match between teams and the technical and financial resources required for project execution in coordination with the Executive Management.
- Establish, challenge, and monitor the operational progress of R&D projects with the Executive Management, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Establish, challenge, and monitor performance indicators (quality indicators) with the Executive Management.
- Act as the interface with various departments within the company.
Requirements
- PhD or Master in biochemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar relevant tracks.
- At least 10 years of experience leading research projects and managing scientific teams in a time-bound and milestone-driven environment, ideally in industry work focused on recombinant protein expression using data-led approaches.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong execution focus.
- Experience in managing and generating a strong IP portfolio.
- Experience in strain engineering (including post-translational modifications), fermentation/bioprocessing, and downstream processing (DSP) for recombinant proteins, HTP assay development, omics, bioinformatics, analytics, dairy/colloid science, food science, etc.
