Core Responsibilities / Objectives:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) acts as the medical and scientific authority for Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) products and related therapeutic domains. This role is primarily field-based, emphasizing medical and scientific interactions with ADC stakeholders. The CSL provides expert medical and scientific counsel to key clients regarding ADC products and pertinent therapeutic areas, facilitating scientific discussions and professional development with influential thought leaders and external specialists, while also supporting the national commercial team with medical and scientific affairs.
CORE FUNCTIONS
The CSL is dedicated to enhancing the scientific credibility of ADC by engaging with established and emerging national thought leaders. This involves fostering scientific dialogue and collaboration in research, scientific publications, and medical exchanges, including addressing unsolicited medical information requests. Regular interaction with appropriate members of the national commercial team is essential. The CSL maintains a comprehensive knowledge base to ensure the credible sharing of scientific information and discussions with thought leaders, healthcare providers, and healthcare organizations.
This position reports to the national CSL manager and collaborates closely with regional and local teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver credible presentations on scientific topics to healthcare providers, both individually and in group settings (meetings, clinical sessions, etc.), as needed. Cultivate professional and credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts critical to ADC. Establish a strong medical and scientific presence for ADC in key academic institutions by facilitating research and educational initiatives, while addressing requests for medical and scientific information related to ADC products or therapeutic interests. Collaborate effectively and cross-functionally with other field team members while maintaining functional independence. Serve as a key contact within the medical affairs team for thought leaders and external experts in a designated geographic area, addressing their needs for scientific knowledge in therapeutic areas and relevant ADC products to support safe, effective, and appropriate usage and to explore new indications. Organize and execute regional educational and scientific symposiums. Participate in the selection process to identify qualified thought leaders for collaborative efforts, such as educational and advisory roles (Advisory Boards, Congresses, Symposia, etc.), ensuring high scientific and educational integrity in these collaborations. Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences, collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop summaries of key data and other scientifically relevant information to inform ADC strategic priorities and initiatives. Recommend key thought leaders and external experts for scientific or medical publication support. Ensure that all activities and interactions comply with applicable local and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies, and accepted best practices.Required Experience/Training:
A minimum of 3-5 years in a health sciences field. Experience in customer-facing healthcare roles. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Valid driving license for passenger vehicles. Fluency in the local language.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Background in Diabetes Care.-
