Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline OR a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional or military experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud technologies, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data analytics
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructures that address critical challenges in Energy sectors (Oil and Gas, Power, or Utilities)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders or clients
  • A strong commitment to developing innovative solutions that drive business value.
  • A technical degree in basic sciences, technology, physics, engineering, or mathematics is required, or a non-technical degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French, particularly in technical and strategic discussions with senior leadership.

We seek an experienced and driven technologist with a profound understanding of the Energy, Power, or Utility Industries. You will possess a business-oriented mindset, technical expertise, and strong interpersonal skills to help shape the future as a Solutions Architect, supporting some of the largest Energy companies globally.

In this role, you will engage with customer business leaders to address their most significant challenges and help them achieve new performance levels. You will utilize AWS' leading cloud services to design highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that tackle business issues and expedite the customer cloud journey.

You will effectively collaborate, communicate, and partner with other AWS teams, including product, marketing, and professional services, while representing your team to executive management. You will demonstrate the ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to excellence will positively impact your customers.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will manage the technical relationship with customers, providing recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency, and best-practice architectures. Internally, you will advocate for the customer, driving continuous improvements to the AWS platform by sharing their needs and preferences to inform the development of AWS features and services. You will also play a role in shaping the future of the Solutions Architecture organization by assisting in hiring, coaching, and mentoring others.

In this position, your creativity will connect technology to practical solutions, with opportunities to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures alongside the global AWS Solutions Architect community. You will participate in creating and sharing best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts) and promote and educate about AWS technology through various channels (e.g., workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos, or conferences).
