**Job Summary**
AWE is seeking a highly skilled Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at the EPURE facility in France. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering professional engineering services for the upkeep of all assets and equipment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Apply technical knowledge for engineered systems and structures.
- Identify and escalate business risk where applicable to plant and engineered systems.
- Make evidence-based engineering decisions to solve technical problems.
- Bring C&I engineering skills to the team, which could potentially include one or more of the following: Electrical distribution, functional safety, PLCs, machinery safety, intrinsic safety, BMS, and specialist instrumentation.
- Provide hands-on support for UK Trials at EPURE.
- Contribute towards the development of Safe Systems of Work and Work instructions.
- Acquire and maintain the necessary competencies to perform this role.
- Develop awareness of team, function, and company processes and technical capabilities.
- Participate in collaborative working relationships as part of a team (internal/external).
**Requirements**
- Hold an HNC/HND with additional experience.
- Proven ability to deliver engineering across a similar manufacturing/research environment incorporating infrastructure facilities, plant, and equipment.
- Experience of delivering facilities engineering and maintenance services across the life of an asset.
**Additional Requirements**
- Willing to relocate to France and live within 1 hour of the Valduc site.
- Ability to communicate in the French Language is essential for this role. While training will be provided, significant personal commitment and self-study will be required to reach the required level.
- Operate in workplaces of substantial hazard (radiological, explosive, toxic).
- Be comfortable with working in the defence industry in support of the UK nuclear deterrent.
- Undertake secondary roles for the UK Senior Technical operator in support of UK operations.
- Fit to wear a respirator and work in a radiation-controlled area.
