Nuclear Safety Leadership Role
Altrad is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Head of Nuclear Safety to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs within our nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Safety Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety strategy that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the safety culture within the organization, promoting continuous improvement and a proactive approach to safety management.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all safety activities comply with national and international nuclear safety regulations and standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, prepare necessary documentation, and manage inspections and audits.
- Safety Program Development
- Design, implement, and manage robust HSE programs and policies.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates to safety programs to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
- Risk Management
- Identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize risks.
- Incident Management
- Lead investigations into safety incidents and near-misses.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
- Training and Development
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Ensure continuous education on safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory changes.
- Performance Monitoring
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety performance.
- Generate regular safety performance reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct regular emergency drills and training exercises.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding safety initiatives and performance.
- Engage with local communities and public organizations on safety matters.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the safety team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the safety team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner (CMIOSH)) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards in the nuclear industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as needed.
