The role of the Product Manager is pivotal in our Aerospace division, focusing on understanding the intricacies of market dynamics and customer requirements to tailor unique offerings.

As a Product Manager, you will serve as a product authority, collaborating closely with our key clients to analyze market frameworks and their implications, ensuring that our proposals are both innovative and competitive.

Your responsibilities will include steering the product and service portfolio through its entire lifecycle, managing complexities to enhance sales and profit margins.

You will establish guidelines for the Marketing 4 Pillars: Product/Services, Pricing, Distribution Channels, and Promotion, while working in close collaboration with various sales, technical, and communication teams at the Business Group/Business Unit level.

Key Objectives

With a robust understanding of the Aerospace market demands and acting as a vital link between sales and technical teams, your key objectives will include:

Accelerating the growth of the Aerospace segment by supporting strategic sales initiatives, Defining and driving innovation in products and services, Optimizing the product portfolio, Supporting and energizing the Sales team, Contributing to communication strategies, Developing a comprehensive offering in products and services, Formulating and executing the relevant product and sourcing strategy.

Responsibilities Overview

Market Analysis :

Monitor and assess market demand, including customer needs, trends, and shifts in end-user application requirements. Evaluate market size and trends for the assigned product range. Analyze competitor product offerings across various dimensions: Technology, Cost, Quality, and Services. Identify optimal opportunities for lead generation.

Product Strategy Development:

Create a strategic plan for the product range, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, revenue goals, and margin expectations. Develop a comprehensive product policy covering products, packaging, accessories, and services. Assess the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives. Contribute to the establishment of the overall pricing strategy. Provide guidance on stock policies for products. Supply marketing insights to assist the Communications team in defining promotional strategies. Own the product roadmap for your designated categories, aligning it with the product policy.

Innovation and New Product Development:

Drive value creation and differentiation by fostering product innovation. Actively participate in the Ideation process by engaging with customers to understand their needs and anticipate requests. Continuously explore opportunities for new product development or redesign. Translate market demands into functional specifications. Influence technical specifications from the outset. Ensure timely development and industrialization of new products through effective coordination with various plants. Develop business cases and high-level financial assessments for new products.

Product and Services Portfolio Management:

Ensure accurate representation of products in the e-catalogue. Continuously evaluate the product offering throughout its lifecycle, focusing on: Technical specifications, design, and cost considerations. Application range and comparisons with competing products. Nexans' manufacturing capabilities. Pricing, margin ranges, and sales volumes. Marketing strategies for local markets. Identify gaps and redundancies in the product portfolio and work towards their resolution. Manage or validate Stock Keeping Units (SKUs). Conduct periodic benchmarks for costs, design, performance, and services. Develop a sourcing matrix for multiple factories and propose actions for product sourcing optimization. Collaborate on Transfer of Technology specifications. Propose strategies to minimize product proliferation and complexity. Lead cost reduction initiatives and assist plants in process optimization. Work with product developers to ensure high-quality information for Product Datasheets is consistently provided.

Sales Support:

Organize high-level technical support for Sales and Marketing on key accounts and major projects. Train internal partners on new products and business models. Promote product offerings and differentiators to key stakeholders. Assist in sales monitoring activities.

Communication:

Provide marketing insights to aid the Communications team in defining promotional plans. Share product and services roadmaps with the communication team. Involve the communication team early in the product launch process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Engineering degree with 10 years of experience in a related field, complemented by business education or training. Alternatively, a Business degree with 10 years of experience in collaboration with technical departments. Strategic thinker and business developer, capable of building sustainable relationships with stakeholders. Project management expertise, with the ability to work effectively in a global team environment. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority. Proficiency in English, with a willingness to travel internationally. Competence in communication and analysis software tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
