About the Role
FIRALP is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team in the field of fiber optic installation and maintenance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Take possession of project plans and select equipment based on installation configuration
- Install Point of Branching Optics (PBO) or BPE (Boîtier de Protection d'Epissure) as required
- Perform aerial or underground cable pulls, adapting to existing infrastructure
- Connect fiber optic cables according to intervention and job specifications
- Conduct quality control checks: attenuation of connections and cables, optical measurements, and fiber allocation
- Update documentation: cable plans, connection plans, and synoptic diagrams, cable tagging and labeling
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Telecommunications
- Experience in field work in the fiber optic and FTTH domains
- Proficiency in reading project plans and making connections
- Master of optical equipment: soldering, optical measurement, and reflectometry
- Familiarity with various types of fiber optic
