Telecommunications Technician

About the Role

FIRALP is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team in the field of fiber optic installation and maintenance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment and maintenance of fiber optic networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Take possession of project plans and select equipment based on installation configuration
• Install Point of Branching Optics (PBO) or BPE (Boîtier de Protection d'Epissure) as required
• Perform aerial or underground cable pulls, adapting to existing infrastructure
• Connect fiber optic cables according to intervention and job specifications
• Conduct quality control checks: attenuation of connections and cables, optical measurements, and fiber allocation
• Update documentation: cable plans, connection plans, and synoptic diagrams, cable tagging and labeling

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Telecommunications
• Experience in field work in the fiber optic and FTTH domains
• Proficiency in reading project plans and making connections
• Master of optical equipment: soldering, optical measurement, and reflectometry
• Familiarity with various types of fiber optic
