About the Role

FIRALP is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team in the field of fiber optic installation and maintenance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment and maintenance of fiber optic networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take possession of project plans and select equipment based on installation configuration
  • Install PBOs (Point of Branching Optics) or BPEs (Boîtier de Protection d'Epissure)
  • Perform cable pulls in aerial or underground configurations, adapting to existing infrastructure
  • Connect fiber optic cables according to intervention and job specifications
  • Perform quality control checks: attenuation of connections and cables, optical measurements, and fiber allocation
  • Update documentation: cable plans, connection plans, and synoptic diagrams, cable tagging and labeling

Requirements

  • Hold a BAC Pro degree in civil engineering or telecommunications
  • Have experience in field work in the fiber optic and FTTH domains
  • Be proficient in reading project plans and performing connections
  • Have mastery of optical equipment: soldering, optical measurement, and reflectometry
  • Be familiar with different types of fiber optic
