Mechanical Data Center Colocation Regional Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced AWS Infrastructure Services Data Center Engineer to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a Colo Regional Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, including data center site selection, planning, and development.

You will work closely with our colo vendors to review designs for new data centers, ensuring they meet our guidelines and expectations. Additionally, you will provide technical support for operational issues, including ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers
  • Lead projects to fit out data centers to meet ever-evolving customer needs
  • Evaluate mechanical/electrical systems and make data-driven decisions
  • Interface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or 7+ years of relevant experience
  • 7+ years of experience directly related to data center design and in-depth understanding of related critical equipment
  • Understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers
