The Actuarial Specialist is responsible for conducting pricing and experience evaluations for the French markets within the protection sector, primarily focusing on short-term business, including self-employed, group, and non-proportional insurance, while also providing support for long-term products such as credit life and Long-Term Care.
This role encompasses all activities outlined in the SGL Pricing Process (refer to ICS), which includes every subprocess involved in deal quotations, from data gathering and experience analysis to assumption formulation, model development, analytical evaluation, final quote establishment, and CART reporting.
At the local level, the pricing function is centered around client needs, aiming to enhance SCOR's capacity to underwrite profitable new business. This typically involves (a) client services such as product innovation and experience assessment, and (b) may also extend to corporate actuarial, finance/reporting, and business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Pricing:
- Execute pricing tasks that yield timely, dependable, and consistent quotations, including risk evaluation and adherence to processes.
- Develop and refine local pricing models and benchmarks, adjusting them in line with global methodologies to ensure local coherence.
- Assist business functions in product development focusing on pricing, risk, and profitability.
- Provide support for business initiatives, including client engagements, presentations, solutions, technical seminars, and training sessions.
- Contribute to innovative and strategic projects within the macro market and/or the global pricing community.
Experience Analysis:
- Assess client experiences throughout the quotation process.
- Enhance actuarial assumptions for pricing applications.
- Support initiatives aimed at developing data pools and client services based on experience evaluations.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in insurance or reinsurance, with a concentration on actuarial matters.
- Proficiency in statistical and/or actuarial methodologies and tools, primarily Excel, VBA, Python, and R.

Educational Requirements:
- Degree in Actuarial Science.
- Qualification or equivalent from a recognized actuarial body is mandatory.
