Job Title: Data Officer Delegate

Join American President Lines as a Data Officer Delegate and play a pivotal role in driving business digital transformation and innovation through data-driven strategies.

Job Summary:

The Data Officer Delegate will be responsible for leading the data strategy for the Shipping Line, leveraging data as a strategic asset to drive business performance, reduce costs, and identify optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives, leading data transformation to strengthen foundations, develop new capabilities, and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.
  • Establish clear definitions for data, associated rules, and ownership, understanding how data is used within the organization and applying data governance standards to ensure data quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, management, and analysis of data across the organization, ensuring critical data remains accurate, complete, reliable, and fit for purpose, supporting decision-making and operational success.
  • Ensure Business Intelligence and Data Science efforts are aligned with the Shipping Line's overall data strategy and business objectives, driving the adoption of AI & innovative data solutions and tools to enhance data capabilities.
  • Work closely with management and business units across the organization, serving as the central point of contact for all data-related initiatives and educating business teams about the value of data and its exploitation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior data management role, preferably as a CDO or similar.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data management, and data analytics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with big data technologies and platforms.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
