Job Description

As a Senior Legal Counsel for Commercial Contracts and Grid Integration, you will be part of the Hitachi Energy business based in Massy, France. Your primary responsibility will be to provide professional advice on a broad range of legal and integrity issues relating to the Grid Integration business line, particularly regarding high-value complex tenders and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with customers, partners, and suppliers to negotiate contractual terms and drive the development of different business models.
  • Work as a trusted business partner to identify legal issues and develop effective legal strategies, mitigation actions, and practical solutions.
  • Contribute to the review of tender preparation, risks identification, risk review, framework agreements, partnerships, settlements, and other related activities.
  • Collaborate with legal teams globally and interdisciplinary teams to promote dispute avoidance and strategize the management of disputes and litigations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as internal regulations in various fields.
  • Contribute to the development of directives and assist with implementation.
  • Collaborate in Risk Management and other internal processes.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in French law.
  • 8+ years of experience as a lawyer relating to grid system or major utilities construction/engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of governmental and commercial regulations and practices, working knowledge of FIDIC and offshore contracts.
  • Proven communication, drafting of contracts, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Proficiency in French and English. Proficiency in Italian is a plus.
