About the Role:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial closing processes for GSF & LSF, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes preparing and maintaining templates to track accruals, conducting variance analyses, and providing in-depth analysis of actual financial results. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating a slide deck for the monthly Business Review, providing forecasts for P&L cost base, and monitoring Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) baselines to ensure labor costs are controlled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Closing:
- Prepare and oversee the monthly financial closing processes for GSF & LSF, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain templates to track accruals for the closing period.
- Conduct variance analyses comparing actuals to budget and previous year figures.
- Preparation of Business Reviews:
- Create a slide deck for the monthly Business Review tailored for the dedicated functions.
- Provide in-depth analysis of actual financial results, and prepare forecasts for P&L cost base.
- Monitor Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) baselines to ensure labor costs are controlled.
- Coordinate regular meetings with key stakeholders (including GSF controller, function heads, and local business controllers) to discuss costs and financial forecasts.
- Present monthly reports to top management, including members of the Executive Committee (ExCom).
- Budget Process:
- Coordinate with stakeholders to construct the annual budget for the functions.
- Lead and guide the budget construction process across GMUs, sub-functions, and entities.
- Ensure the consistency and accuracy of the budget submissions.
- Input the finalized budget into the financial system (AFO).
- Ad Hoc Analysis and Support to GSF Controller:
- Conduct ad hoc analyses as requested by the GSF controller.
- Manage requests efficiently, bridging gaps between GSF and local controllers as necessary.
- Assist in reconciling and responding to auditor inquiries.
Requirements:
- Master's degree/business school with specialization in Finance/accounting.
- Strong in PowerPoint/Excel is a must.
- SAP skills (FI-CO-CRM-ESS Cats) preferred.
- IFRS/IAS knowledge is a plus.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferable in service company or financial institution.
- Excellent analytical skills, rigorous, transparent, attention to details.
- Sense of integrity (raising flags, alerts): controlling and challenging.
- Sense of business, bringing support and added value to the business.
- Good communication skills, being able to present/discuss with top management.
- Flexibility: able to work in a complex and changing environment.
- Support work under pressure and have energy to meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Being result-oriented and performance-driven, willing to pro-actively propose solutions and enhancements.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Process-oriented and ability to manage ad-hoc transversal projects.
