Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to company policies and operational practices.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that balance exceptional customer service with cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to devise integrated supply chain solutions.
- Oversee departmental budget management.
- Maintain procurement documentation with a focus on data accuracy.
- Ensure supplier compliance with Zimmer Biomet standards.
- Address and resolve invoice discrepancies efficiently.
- Engage with European and Global procurement teams to understand cross-functional commodity needs, analyzing costs, logistics, quality, and user requirements to inform centralized procurement decisions.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet operational targets.
- Prepare analytical reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collect and analyze data to guide decision-making in areas such as make vs. buy and long-term contracts.
- Proactively identify potential issues affecting business operations and develop effective solutions.
- Assess and address team performance, ensuring alignment with established goals.
- Evaluate team members' strengths and development needs.
- Utilize metrics and performance feedback to enhance supplier performance and provide insights to Category Managers.
- Proficient understanding of planning and purchasing systems, manufacturing processes, and budgeting practices.
- Ability to derive actionable insights from ERP system outputs.
- Strong skills in spreadsheet applications and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), along with ERP systems experience.
- Self-motivated and effective team player with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in basic contract negotiations and contract development.
- Ability to evaluate supplier quotations for quality, quantity, delivery terms, and pricing.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in managing complex issues and making informed decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement/Sourcing.
- Proven ability to meet project deadlines while working collaboratively and independently.
- Understanding of legal aspects of purchasing, including contract law, with some international exposure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard purchasing practices and techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership and ethical business practices.
- Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to facilitate change within sourcing categories.
- Advanced knowledge of planning and purchasing systems, as well as accounting principles.
- Effective analytical, organizational, and communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Ability to maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization.
