Thematics Asset Management
Thematics Asset Management operates from Paris, overseeing more than 3.0 billion USD in client assets through a targeted array of global active thematic equity strategies. As a part of Natixis Investment Managers, one of the largest asset management firms globally, Thematics was founded by six partners in early 2019, five of whom are seasoned portfolio managers with a solid reputation in thematic investing. The firm embodies an entrepreneurial ethos, managing funds through rigorous fundamental research and conviction-based stock selection as part of a well-defined investment framework.
Responsible Investment Initiatives
The Responsible Investment (RI) team is tasked with steering the responsible investment strategy at Thematics AM. This includes defining the overarching RI strategy and overseeing the execution of sustainability-related policies across investment portfolios. Key responsibilities encompass: enhancing the sustainable investing framework, providing insights to the investment team, reporting on ESG performance, and creating original thought leadership materials. The team also assists Portfolio Managers with ESG analyses and company engagements, monitors the evolving landscape of sustainable investments, and supports ESG communication and marketing efforts.
Main Responsibilities
Assist the ESG team with daily operations and ongoing projects Collaborate closely with ESG and Climate specialists on policy development and improvements Provide essential support in corporate ESG engagements, including analysis, engagement, monitoring, and tracking Conduct data analysis for reporting and disclosure, as well as portfolio risk assessment Contribute to the creation of ESG-specific content for clients and marketing initiatives Support Portfolio Managers with ESG-related research Aid in generating ESG thought leadership materialsCandidate Profile and Required Skills
Ideal candidates should be post-graduate students, preferably holding a degree in sustainability, environmental science, or finance with a focus on environmental or social economics. Previous internship experience in ESG or sustainability research is advantageous. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, advanced Excel proficiency, and a keen interest in data analytics. Skills or a strong interest in design and digital marketing will be considered a plus. A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, multicultural environment are essential.
A genuine interest in sustainable investing, independence, strong writing skills, and some proficiency in Excel and data analytics will be crucial for success in this role. The successful candidate will exhibit dynamism, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude. Team spirit, resilience, and a passion for achieving results are also vital attributes.
