Job Title: Post-doctorate in Type 1 Diabetes Glycaemic Fluctuations

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctorate researcher to join our team at the Université de Lille, within the URePSSS laboratory. The successful candidate will work on a project aimed at improving the understanding of glycaemic fluctuations around physical activity in type 1 diabetes patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply mathematical and biophysical models to predict hypo and hyperglycaemic risk around physical activity
  • Analyse large datasets from continuous glucose monitoring systems, accelerometers, and other sensors to identify patterns and trends
  • Collaborate with researchers from various disciplines, including exercise physiology, medicine, and data science
  • Present research findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier journals

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as mathematics, biophysics, or data science
  • Strong background in mathematical and biophysical modelling, machine learning, and data analysis
  • Excellent programming skills in Python or R
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Environment:

The post-doctorate position will be located at the Université de Lille, within the URePSSS laboratory, under the supervision of Prof. Elsa Heyman and Dr. Pierre Morel. The work will be carried out as part of an International Associated Laboratory, including the 'Metabolism' team from the URePSSS laboratory and the PROMD team headed by Prof. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret at the Institute for Clinical Research in Montreal.
