Chairperson of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education

The French Ministry for Higher Education and Research is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Chairperson of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education.
About the RoleThe Chairperson will be responsible for leading the High Council in its mission to evaluate higher education bodies, research bodies, and scientific cooperation foundations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in evaluation, research, and higher education, and will be able to enhance evaluation processes and increase their impact on the higher education and research ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate higher education bodies and their groupings, research bodies, scientific cooperation foundations, and private not-for-profit legal entities under contract with the French State.
- Evaluate research structures and units at the request of the legal entity to which they belong.
- Evaluate initial training courses delivered and qualifications issued by higher education bodies.
- Ensure that all tasks assigned to higher education and research staff are taken into account in their appraisals.
- Evaluate major national research infrastructures and any structure created under private law receiving public funds for research or higher education.
- Evaluate the dissemination activity of scientific, technical and industrial culture within institutions and research structures.
- Promote scientific integrity in evaluations.
- Evaluate measures promoting equality between women and men in organizations contributing to the higher education public service.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in evaluation, research, and higher education, and will be able to enhance evaluation processes and increase their impact on the higher education and research ecosystem. The candidate will also be appointed by decree signed by the President of the French Republic for a once-renewable four-year term.
