Assistant Professor of Writing and Digital Humanities

The American University of Paris invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Department of Comparative Literature and English, with a focus on Writing and Digital Humanities. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of scholars and educators who are passionate about teaching and research.
Responsibilities- Teach four or five courses per year in the English Writing Program, focusing on academic essay writing and critical analysis of substantial readings.
- Contribute to the development of expository and creative writing courses in the Comparative Literature and Creative Writing major, as well as the linguistics, Theater and Performance, and Critical Theory minors.
- Maintain an ongoing record of high-quality publication and service to the department and university.
- Participate in faculty governance, including attending full faculty, department, and committee meetings.
We seek a candidate with a terminal degree in a relevant discipline (MFA or PhD) and a proven record of high-quality publication and excellent teaching. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital humanities pedagogy or research and be able to speak and write in fluent English. Knowledge of at least two languages and experience in multi-lingual environments are strongly preferred.
