Role Overview:

As part of the Continental Europe McCain Procurement Team, the MRO Buyer will spearhead the supplier relationship strategy for their designated spend area. This role is pivotal in ensuring suppliers are treated with the utmost commercial respect while adhering to our policies, ethical standards, and strategic procurement approaches. A solid grasp of procurement systems and processes is essential to facilitate effective procurement transactions.

The primary objective of this position is to procure spare parts and services for our European facilities, with a strong emphasis on ensuring a secure supply chain in the medium to long term while capitalizing on sustainable cost advantages and leveraging supplier innovation and cost-saving capabilities.

You will report directly to the Director of Capex & MRO.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Execution:

• Collaborate with the Global Director of MRO and key stakeholders across Europe to formulate a strategy that aligns with current business needs and supports the MRO category.
• Own and monitor procurement performance metrics (KPIs) for various categories.

Relationship Management:

• Establish robust relationships with stakeholders and deliver exceptional service.
• Provide outstanding customer support to key stakeholders, positioning yourself as a vital business partner across functions such as Manufacturing, Finance, HR, and Engineering.

Category Management:

• Ensure category plans align with the goals of operational business owners.
• Support and guide stakeholders to adhere to procurement policies while executing category plans effectively.
• Proactively manage supply risks and develop contingency plans with critical suppliers.
• Identify fragmented purchases and consolidate them to enhance quality, achieve cost savings, and standardize processes.

Health, Safety, Security, Diversity & Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility:

• Integrate McCain's Health, Safety, Security policies, D&I, and CSR strategies into all sourcing activities, ensuring compliance.
• Encourage key suppliers to contribute to McCain's strategic objectives.

Supplier Management:

• Standardize supplier management approaches based on supplier criticality and risk.
• Develop a consistent Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategy across the team, ensuring strategic suppliers are managed according to their importance and risk level.

Cost Optimization:

• Identify cost-saving opportunities within the category portfolio through competitive pricing and collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Optimize spending across sourcing while ensuring high-quality products are delivered on time.
• Maintain accurate pricing systems to ensure correct purchase prices and timely payments, addressing any invoice discrepancies promptly.
• Make tender award decisions in line with procurement operating principles.

Market Insight:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the market to enhance price forecasting and negotiation effectiveness.

Candidate Profile:

• Master's Degree in Procurement, Business, or Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of procurement experience, ideally within the industry.
• Ability to align business needs with external capabilities.
• Team-oriented with a strong sense of partnership.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills for navigating complex organizational environments.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Creative and adaptable, capable of adjusting priorities based on internal and external factors.
• Diversity-minded, with the ability to operate in a matrix organization across regions and cultures.
• Fluency in English and French is required.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP and COUPA is advantageous.
